Kaomailanna Resort, Chiang Mai

Kaomai Lanna Resort is a tobacco farm conversion on the outskirts of Chiang Mai, Thailand. Nestling in 20 acres of landscaped gardens the former tobacco drying barns now accommodate 36 guestrooms split over to storeys. On the lower floor, guestrooms are furnished with antique teakwood beds while the bedrooms on the upper floors echo Thai traditions with mattresses placed on raised teak platforms.
Each guestroom is individually designed often featuring Burmese antique furniture suffusing accents of colonialism and blended with touches of contemporary Lanna styles. The tobacco barns retain their original structure with red brick walls and tin roofs with a thick carpet of creeping green foliage covering the walls.
The real pièce de résistance though is the garden where you can enjoy absolute peace and serenity in this little oasis on the outskirts of Chiang Mai. Relax on the banks of Lotus ponds or beneath the vibrantly green and ample canopy of a shady tree. Wake up early and take a walk to enjoy the crisp, cool morning air.
Kaomailanna Resort also lends itself to functions and outdoor events and its gardens make a perfect venue for outdoor receptions and weddings. There are two function and meeting rooms, the larger one has a capacity of 150 people and the smaller, up to 80 people depending on the room layout in both cases. Team Building exercises and activities can also be held in the grounds.
Kaomailanna Resort is a boutique resort in Chiang Mai that lends itself to couples, honeymooners, wedding parties and small corporate functions and events. Balancing culture and nature it’s a great place to unwind either in a quiet corner within the gardens, beside the pool or in the skilful hands of one of the resident masseurs.
In amongst this fountain of greenery, Kaomailanna offers several on-site activities including a spa with a “homely” theme and yoga classes. Beyond Kaomailanna, Chiang Mai’s endless list of outward bound opportunities awaits. Doi Inthanon, Thailand’s highest point is within easy reach as are handicraft villages and markets. Elephant trekking, hiking, white water rafting and visiting hill tribe villages as well as the sights and sounds of Chiang Mia, the Rose of the North, are just some examples of activities awaiting you in Chiang Mai.
